On March 8th, we celebrated International Women’s Day and many people around the globe shared their love and appreciation for women of different cultures, ages, religions and many more diversities. However, the world is filled with many incredible women who should be celebrated and respected every single day. Many times, it is difficult for women to be treated fairly or to gain the respect that they deserve so it is extremely important that each woman understands how powerful and important she is and the greatness in which she is capable. As a society, we must stand in unity and in support of one another in kindness and respect to honour and appreciate wonderful women.

There is not a textbook lifestyle or behaviour that embodies powerful or wonderful women. Power is achieved when you know your worth and make the choice to project your strengths onto the world. There is not one single definition of what defines power. Many people may believe that a “powerful woman” only refers to women in high career positions who are in charge of departments or who are bosses of businesses. Although these women are truly amazing, inspiring and are definitely powerful, they are not the only definition of what makes a woman important.

Everyone has inside of her a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be, how much you can love, what you can accomplish, and what your potential is. – Anne Frank
Women empowerment must include unity, diversity, and respect – including the respect and support from men too, you are not excluded! We, as a society, must stand together and recognize our importance and the power of our voices. Be loud. Be heard. Be strong. Be proud of yourself and your fellow sisters. Do not forget how incredible you are or what you are capable of achieving. Always keep your head held up high, never sell yourself short.
