Calgary’s Most Eligible Bachelorette: Sarah!

Sarah is an enthusiastic, goal-driven individual who works hard at everything she takes on. Sarah finds joy in challenging people in the way they think and appreciates few things more than a great debate. Being the eldest of three children, Sarah has always been a natural leader, her younger siblings may even say bossy, with a desire to have her voice heard. She loves to write about things that matter to her, and inspire others to do the same.
Sarah studied Broadcast Journalism, where she pursued her interests in television, news reporting and acting. She worked as a radio reporter and from there, moved onto employment in the vast world of social media. After completing an internship with a social media marketing company, Sarah was inspired to start her own business and take a chance on her career. Sarah considers herself a “lifestyle entrepreneur” meaning the focus is more on the life rewards, rather than the profits. Sarah’s work provides her freedom to do the things she loves, and she looks forward to diving into many other passions in her lifetime. Sarah hopes to pursue her dreams to become a chef, a yoga instructor, a published author and the list goes on. Most importantly, she wants to inspire people to live their passions and to not be confined by the limitations of the world.
Sarah loves to read about topics that interest her and is always working to expand her mind. She wants to be remembered for who she is as a person, rather than her accomplishments. She is constantly striving to be more authentic, vulnerable and kindhearted.
Sarah values experiences over possessions and dreams about travelling. She has visited Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia and hopes to add South America to the list very soon. Despite all the remarkable places she has seen, there is nothing she enjoys as much as a beach vacation on the stunning islands of Hawaii. Sarah lives an active life and is dedicated to sweating it out every single day. She loves to run, practice yoga and attend fitness classes.
Sarah wants to find a man who will make her laugh, take her on spontaneous adventures and love her despite the fact she can be a little bit, or a lot, crazy. Somebody who will empower her to conquer her fears, live a bold life and who will allow her to do the same in return. He must be passionate, confident and open- minded to new ideas and experiences. Being tall, dark and handsome sure doesn’t hurt either.

Name: Sarah
Occupation: Lifestyle Entrepreneur/Social Media Consultant/Blogger
Things I’m passionate about: Travelling, writing, yoga, running, nutrition, cooking & wine.
My ideal first date would be: Going for a walk, hitting up a spin class or grabbing a coffee. Something casual, and active is always good too.
People say that I am: Positive, funny and insightful. Weird is thrown out there quite a bit as well.
My ideal partner is: Adventurous, hilarious and hard working. There is nothing I find more attractive than a man with good values and a strong work ethic. I also love them rugged and outdoorsy …
Dating deal breakers: Someone with no sense of humor. If he can’t make me laugh, it is never going to work. Arrogance is another deal breaker for sure. And bad shoes.
I’m not bragging but I…: can probably out run you. I just completed my first half marathon (21.1 kilometers) in February and have another coming up soon.
A talent that may surprise you: I can pick my nose with my tongue. I’m not sure if that is considered a talent but I think it’s awesome.
Three artists you’ll find on my iPod: The Head and The Heart, The Shins and Mother Mother.
My dream vacation: I want to travel the entire world so it’s hard to say what my “dream vacation” would be. I just love exploring cities and immersing myself into new cultures. Whether it’s trying new food, people watching, lying on the beach, experiencing city nightlife or attempting to speak new languages (terribly)… I love it all. The next place I want to see is Italy!
My favourite part of living in Calgary: The proximity to the mountains and the restaurants! I have a never-ending list of restaurants I still need to try in this city.
What I put on my burger: Cheese, ketchup, mushrooms, lettuce, avocado and pickles.
I was most impressed on a date when he/she…: took me to one of the most exclusive nightclubs in Paris.
In high school I was: always that kid putting up my hand in class and answering every question, whether I knew the answer or didn’t.
My guilty indulgence is: Chocolate. Also The Bachelor, I am known for my weekly Bachelor blog.
In my past life I was: Probably a hippie…rejecting conventional ideas, wearing beads and living off the earth.
In my next life I’ll be: A teacher of some kind. If I could do anything else, and hopefully in this lifetime I will, it would be teaching.
If my life were a genre of movie it would be: A dramatic comedy, if that’s a thing.
The actor that should play my life story is: Kate Hudson. She would fit the role perfectly. I just love her energy.
Favourite Calgary Hot Spot: 80th and Ivy. The food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is always lively.
Favourite ice cream flavour: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough or Mint Chocolate Chip, in a waffle cone.
To relieve stress I: Ideally I will go for a run, but realistically I need a good vent session to get it all out. Writing in my journal is also a fabulous outlet.
If I played hooky I’d…: head to the mountains for a hike or play a game of golf. Being self-employed I have the luxury of playing hooky on a regular basis.
If I found a genie in a bottle my three wishes would be: 1. To have my own TV show where I travel the world and interview inspiring people. 2. To figure out the meaning of life. I know that may ruin the fun of it all but I really want to know. 3. To find someone to share my life with who just gets me.
