Hear ye, Hear ye: Last week I announced one-half of the ten Tinder commandments. The next five Tinder tenets are:

6. Thou shalt use the “Moments” feature tactfully

Translation: Long gone are redirections to Instagram to confirm a match’s current look. A timely use of a “Moments” picture can refuel other lost matches interest in you. Use it wisely.

7. Remember, the third time is the charm

Translation: Not every single match you message will return the volley. If after the third time she hasn’t responded to your message, move on. Let the sleeping dogs lie or see #6. If she likes one of your “moments”, you could re-establish communication.

8. Thou shalt curb your enthusiasm

Translation: She’s the hottest woman you’ve matched with yet, and naturally, the urge to be eager kicks in. But mind you, she’s heard how sexy she is from her other triple-digit matches. So, keep the complimenting string to a minimum and approach her from a different conversational arc—aside from how hot she is. She already knows it. Also don’t rush getting her phone number, and you’re guaranteed she gives it to you unprompted.

9. Thou shalt accept this truth: Everyone is an option

Translation: Sure you both matched, and that indicates her modicum of interest in you. But the number of admirers women garner on Tinder is endless, so don’t assume you’re the only one. Case in point: I met up with a woman who had over 1487 matches and suffice it to say that, it’s a number’s game on these Tinder streets. Simply put, the more attractive she is, the more matches she gains. Don’t be just another match emptily entertaining her when she’s bored. Check #10.

10. Thou shalt meet up sooner than later or never at all

And now, for the most important commandment of all: In all candor, Tinder serves two purposes: dating or hooking up.

Tune in next week to find out how to score Tinder date or hook up. Stay tuned.
