So you’ve survived the winter dating blues, characterized by Netflix binges and mild hibernation. Soon enough, spring season will dawn upon us and with that comes new opportunities to spring into the dating scene yet again.
Recent events have led me to alter my position on first date proposals around this time of year.
That being: refraining from “asking her in” from jump, but rather “out”. Different seasons call for different dating styles right? Understandably, winter was time to cozy up, but with the sun and warm weather peering heads, there’s no evading stepping out with new prospects. Guys, let’s drop the “let’s chill” act, that’s such winter talk. Besides, all women have figured out our intentions behind that clichéd phrase. I’m not vouching for $200 dinner dates each outing, but rather that your first date proposal be outside your confines or suggesting her residence––unless of course she explicitly invites you over.
So how do you not break your wallet with all these spring outings? Here are the top 5 most respectable and economical first date ideas to spring you into the 2015 dating scene.
1. Brunch/Lunch
Low stakes but high rewards, if you’re able to wow her with your conversational prowess. You’re guaranteed a second date if all goes well.
2. Desserts
Need I say aphrodisiacs? Great conversation over a light menu for the win. Let the chocolate and Nutella do your seduction bid.

3. Coffee/Drinks
The classic let’s-meet-for-coffee or drinks gesture comes in here. Simple outing.
4. Gym
Thank the fitness gods for this one. There’s nothing the female gym enthusiast appreciates more than a first date working out together, and smoothies after. Adrenaline and attraction levels up.
5. Dinner
Classic dinner outing, which doesn’t result in breaking the bank. The ambience is critical here, however, as the restaurant you choose speaks volumes.
Next week, we’ll sharpen your conversational skills as you ready for these dates. Stay tuned.
