Dinner and a movie can be fun, but redundant at times. So you’ve already watched Birdbox…twice…and you’re tired of re-watching Friends episodes and wishing your loft was that big. Why not switch it up this weekend with one of these better date ideas in New York City.

Dreamland Roller Disco

Take a magical trip to the dreamland roller disco, filled with unicorns, rainbows and a colourful dance floor complete with party lights and glittering disco balls. Come for the retro DJs, go-go dancers, professional photographers taking Instagram-worthy photos. Feel free to dress up as retro as possible – we’re talking rainbows, glittery clothes, and poofy, frilly skirts.

The event is 21+, and features a fabulous Disco Bar serving beer and wine, as well as non-alcoholic drinks and munchies.  The rink is open from 7:30-10:30pm this Friday and Saturday, January 18-19. Tickets are around $20.00 per person.

Fine Wine and Food Fest

Check out some tasty food and wine pairing at the Fine Wine and Food Fest at NYCB Live! With your ticket, you not only get to try many tasty treats and drinks, but you also get a souvenir tasting cup. There will also be vendors selling cool trinkets and appliances. Plus, the first 2,000 guests will also receive a free FW&FF tote bag so you can carry all your new goodies while you drunk-shop.

Tickets are available on Saturday January 19th from 11:30am-2:30pm, or from 4-7pm, for $49.00 per person.

Folk Art Museum

Catch a free museum with your boo by heading over to the Folk Art Museum on 2 Lincoln Square. The museum features photography, 3D art, Paintings, Antiques, and more. Open Saturday from 11:30am-7pm, and Sunday 12-6pm, this is the perfect chill daytime date where you two can roam around, look at some beautiful art, and then catch a bite to eat afterwards.
